I put my dono bin on buy so someone sold me dirt for 750 each

thats actually your dono bin. buy means you buy not them

they bought stacks of dirt and sold them to your shop, setting a shop to buy (as izaz said) means they can sell items to the shop at your expense.

I know I was playing round with it and ended up setting it to buy
