Yes you can't you js need smiting templates and a netherite ingot

Using a smiting table(crafting table with your welcome iron ingots on top) put the diamond gear in then the smiting template then the netherite ingot

i dont think it makes a difference thou so whats the point

More sword dmg and less dmg taken with netherite

im feeling giggity :P
