There is a small (edit: the “small” is a joke) Minecraft server called Hypixel. While I am sure nobody's heard of it, the server hosted around ten million people. However, this is no longer the case, because with the addition of Hypixel Skyblock, the number of players playing the server skyrocketed to thirty-five million. that is a +133.33% increase in players.

Now we look at something else, I couldn't find a reliable source to tell me what percentage of ArchMC players have bought ranks, however with my experience in different gamemodes like survival, bedwars, and creative, it seems to be around 40%.

According to what I could find, ArchMC holds about 1,500 players. let's say that ArchMC got a new gamemode: something similar to Hypixel Skyblock. Let's also say that because of this awesome new feature, the same thing that happened to Hypixel happens to ArchMC.

1,500 + 133.33% = 3500

now that's great and all for the players having fun on the new ArchMC Skyblock, but what benefits do the owners get? well, if the 40% of players who have bought rank stays the same percentage with the new player increase, that would be:

40% multiplied by 1500 (estimated current number of players) = 600 ranks bought previously

40% multiplied by 3500 = 1400 ranks bought after theoretical skyblock update.

= 800 more ranks bought 

While this seems to be all good, there are some major cons as well. Maybe because the Hypixel Skyblock themed update is so new, there might be bugs and exploits, which if found by the wrong people, could ruin the game entirely. It would also take an extremely long time to code all the NPC dialogue and build the decorations. 

If these cons prove to be a big problem, even big enough to resort the players to help with it (heaven forbid!) then I would be completely willing to put in my skills into helping them get settled down. I have very little experience coding, but I am an okay builder and Minecrafter in general.

So yeah, a big server became bigger because of a new gamemode, and ArchMC could become bigger too, which means more ranks bought, which means more money for owners. new gamemode also means more fun for the players. however, there are both pros and cons, the cons maybe being big enough to shut the gamemode down, but i am sure that there are more players other than me who would legitimately love to help solving the problems.
