Hello Everyone,
I joined this server about a year ago, and when I started playing the only things you could buy on the arch.lol store were ranks. Ranks were simple: they gave you simple perks (like personal vaults, more land claims, and more homes) that made things more convenient, but overall everyone was still on the same playing field. Next tags were added - another purely cosmetic thing that gave no unfair perks. However, soon after the release of tags, bundles (such as the Freedom Bundle and the Back to School Bundle) started to be introduced. I made a post similar to this one when those were released, because I felt that having sharpness VI and protection VII was unfair, as those enchantments could not be obtained in any way other than paying money. The most recent bundles (the Cloud Bundle, Grass Bundle, Heroic Lootbox, and the Champion Lootbox) have furthered my concern for the future of ArchMC, as well as many other peoples'.
First, let's talk about the Cloud Bundle. The Cloud Bundle contains 5 items: the Cloud Splitter (sword), the Cloud Pet, the Cloudy Boots, Rage VI (enchantment), and Anti-Gravity III (enchantment). The sword has sharpness VI and the boots have protection VII, similar to items in other bundles. I do think that these are slightly unfair, but they are not the focus of this post. The cloud pet lets you literally fly, but overall it doesn't give you too much of a competitive advantage. The next enchantment is Anti-Gravity III. This book has a 96% chance of applying and a 4% chance to destroy itself and what it is put on, and it give infinite jump boost V. This isn't that overpowered at the moment, but if ArchMC ever updates to 1.21, it will be OP in combination with a mace. Now, for the best and worst item of the bundle. Best because of how good it is, and worst because of how unfair it is. The Rage VI book gives players a x1.1 damage multiplayer PER combo they hit, which is just completely overpowered. With Rage VI on a Cloud Splitter, you can easily 3-shot a full prot-IV netherite gset, and it only takes 5 shots if they have egapped. This is just unfair, and give players with it a huge advantage.
The next bundle released was the Grass Bundle. Honestly, not many people have sold books from it on the auction house so I do not know what everything does. It mostly contains additional custom enchantments that, like Rage VI, are overpowered. The same is true for the Champion Lootbox, which contains more custom enchantments, this time for armor.
The bundle I have the main problem with is the Heroic Lootbox. This bundle gives the player four enchantment books, all of which build upon the enchantments from the previous bundles. The books in this bundle, when combined together onto a cloud splitter, allow you to 1-shot a full Netherite gset. You can do upwards of 256 damage - without any potions.. To put that in perspective, with strength II, you can one shot a warden - with plenty of room to spare. This makes PvP unenjoyable, both for players without the OP items and players with them, because it requires absolutely zero skill.
In addition, all of these enchantment books have a certain chance of applying to a sword, and a certain chance of breaking it. The items from these bundles would be a lot less overpowered if there was not another item for sale: the white scroll. This item makes it so the item you are applying it to will not break because of a failed enchantment book. This means that instead of settling for one or two custom enchants on a sword, people can add as many as they want, because they will never lose the whole sword.
The final problem I have with this is the silence enchantment. This enchantment basically just nerfs the other custom enchantments, so the only way to not die in one hit is to pay even more money.
DarthKyro once said that Badministrator wanted no swords above sharpness VI on the server, but really, there might as well be sharpness X - it would still do less damage than a maxed sword with all of the custom enchantments.
Thanks for listening,
